Reporting against the electricity transmission company land access statement of expectations

We have developed a statement of expectations in relation to how transmission companies access land. The statement of expectations took effect on 1 June 2022.

The commission requires transmission companies who access land to report monthly on their performance against the principles in the statement of expectations. We will use these reports to inform the development of the Land Access Code of Practice.

This page contains monthly reports submitted by AusNet Transmission Group on their performance against the principles set out in the statement.

The reports published on our website redact any personal or identifying information. The statement of expectations can be found under the resources tab.

Reporting requirements

Monthly reports must include the following details:

• The number of voluntary access agreement negotiations underway, and how principles 2-14 are being applied.
• The number of voluntary access agreements entered, and how principles 2-14 were applied during the period of negotiation.
• The number of notices issued regarding proposed access under section 93 of the Electricity Industry Act 2000, and how principles 2-14 were applied before issuing each notice.
• The number of times land was accessed pursuant to section 93 of the Act, and in each instance: whether each access was pursuant to a notice issued, the time between issuing a notice and access occurring, and how principles 15-20 were applied.
• The number and nature of complaints received (including those forwarded to the Energy and Water Ombudsman Victoria) in relation to section 93 access, the time to respond to each complaint, and actions taken – if any – in response to the complaint.

In reporting on how principles were applied, the commission requires that AusNet provide a brief description of how those principles were applied, and if a principle was not applied, details of why that was the case.
