AGL Sales penalty notices 2020 (undercharging)

AGL Sales has paid $450,000 after we issued 30 penalty notices on 26 June 2020.

In these notices, we alleged that AGL Sales failed comply with their obligations when recovering undercharged amounts from customers between August and September 2019.

The Energy Retail Code requires retailers to follow certain steps when recovering undercharged amounts from customers. This includes stating the amount to be recovered as a separate item in a special bill or the next bill, together with an explanation of that amount.
