Clarification on voltage reduction units for use in the Victorian Energy Upgrades program

Update in definition of voltage reduction units

We have updated our lighting product application guide to clarify the definition and requirements of voltage reduction units for product category 34 (building based lighting upgrade products).

The update clarifies that we will only approve these units where they are used to reduce the supply of AC supply voltage. They will not be approved for regulating electronic power, such as for LED lighting. 

This clarification ensures that only units that result in energy efficiency outcomes are approved under the program, which aligns with the legislative intent.
