Accredited persons are reminded to ensure VEEC creation claims for building based lighting upgrades (activity 34) accurately reflect the baseline environment.
Correct baseline environment information required for building based lighting upgrade (activity 34)
2 February 2022
Through our compliance program, we have identified VEEC creation claims for building based lighting upgrades (activity 34) that do not accurately reflect the presence of lighting control devices in baseline LED lamps. This has led to an inflated number of VEECs being created for these upgrades.
The Building based lighting upgrade activity guide (page 14) states that “If the baseline environment contains a lamp with integrated lighting control devices (LCD) features, you will need to specify the lamps’ LCD features in the LCD fields in the VEEC creation form.”
Accredited persons are reminded that:
- upgrades must meet all eligibility and evidentiary requirements as set out in the activity guide
- you must have processes in place to ensure that the baseline environment is accurately reflected in your VEEC creation claims.
We will be investigating this issue and may take action where our investigation identifies instances of improper creation. We may also seek to recover any ineligible VEECs created and/or registered.
