Update on assessment of pending certificate claims for refrigerated cabinet installations
9 September 2022
We are continuing our assessment of pending certificate claims for refrigerated cabinet installations to review whether they comply with the program rules.
Our review initially focused on claims that have a lower per premises certificate total. We have assessed and processed over 90 per cent of these non-duplicate lower risk claims. The remainder certificate claim assessments require action from the accredited persons involved.
We are now working to verify certificate claims associated with multiple refrigerated cabinet installations. Just over half of these certificate claims have been assessed and processed. We anticipate completing the majority of the remaining assessments by the end of September. We encourage accredited persons to have all required information ready for when we contact you so we can assess your certificates as efficiently as possible.
We recognise this has been a challenging period for accredited persons who have been contributing to the success of the program in good faith and may have been adversely affected by these events.
We remain focused on finalising the registration of eligible certificates for compliant refrigerated cabinet installations as efficiently as possible and thank you for your ongoing cooperation.
Our investigation into multiple refrigerated cabinet installations at single sites and into the creation of certificates where we hold concerns is ongoing. The commission is undertaking site visits and exercising its legislative investigation powers. Further updates on our investigation will be provided in due course.
