Water heating, space heating and cooling, gas efficiency and cold room updates

We have made the following changes in response to queries from accredited persons seeking clarification on the commission’s expectations around the record-keeping requirements and VEEC assignment form requirements for water heating and space heating and cooling activities.

Clarification on our record-keeping requirements regarding disposal or recycling record for activities 1, 3 and 6

We have updated the activity guide to provide additional guidance on the records that that the accredited person may collect to demonstrate that the decommissioned product has been disposed of in compliance with the Environment Protection Act 2017 and its regulations where the disposal facility is unable to provide a waste receipt or invoice or unable to provide a waste receipt or invoice recording requested information.

Amendment to the VEEC assignment forms for activities 1, 3, 6, 37- 44

We have amended the program’s VEEC assignment forms to facilitate the appropriate signing of such forms by a registered plumber (including type B gasfitter) where the registered plumber is the person completing the upgrade by amending the form’s installer declaration to reflect the signing of the form by either a registered or license plumber.

We have also amended the VEEC assignment form to record the information of the licensed plumber responsible for supervising the registered plumber and for issuing the compliance certificate for the upgrade, where the licensed plumber is not the installer completing and signing the VEEC assignment form.

• VEEC assignment form template: Space heating assignment form (activity 6) – residential and business/non-residential premises
• VEEC assignment form template: Gas fired steam boiler (activity 37) - business/non-residential premises
• VEEC assignment form template: Gas fired hot water boiler (activity 38) - business/non-residential premises
• VEEC assignment form template: Electronic gas air ratio controller (activity 39) - business/non-residential premises
• VEEC assignment form template: Combustion trim (activity 40) - business/non-residential premises
• VEEC assignment form template: Gas fired burner replacement (activity 41) - business/non-residential premises
• VEEC assignment form template: Economiser (activity 42) - business/non-residential premises
• VEEC assignment form template: Cold room (activity 43) - business/non-residential premises
• VEEC assignment form template : Heat pump hot water (activity 44) - business/non-residential premises

Accredited persons must ensure that VEEC assignment forms signed by registered plumbers incorporate the form’s latest amendments.
