Business loses accreditation to participate in Victoria’s energy efficiency scheme
11 November 2022
Sara Corporation Pty Ltd, trading as Australian State Energy Upgrades (ASEU), is no longer an accredited person in the Victorian Energy Upgrades program following a decision announced today by the independent regulator.
The Essential Services Commission revoked ASEU’s program accreditation after it failed to meet a mandatory order issued in June 2022 to address allegations of non-compliance with the program rules.
“ASEU has failed to comply with a mandatory order to surrender Victorian energy efficiency certificates in accordance with an order issued in June. The order required ASEU to progressively surrender 47,909 certificates according to a schedule of installments,” commission chairperson Kate Symons said.
“This was a serious matter that warranted timely corrective action from ASEU. ASEU has not met the requirements of the order and the commission has revoked its program accreditation.
“This decision by the commission serves as an important reminder to all accredited businesses operating under the Victorian Energy Upgrades program to make sure your suppliers, activities, practices and processes comply with the program rules."
