‘I've always loved reading. As a former librarian, I value how books create opportunities to connect with people, even fleetingly. On a tram trip recently, a woman told me that she'd read the book I was reading, and we spent the rest of the trip recommending books to each other. We may never see one another again, but it was a lovely way to spend the morning commute.
‘As part of the commission’s water team, I appreciate having the opportunity to research serious matters that affect Victorians. I’m currently working on a family violence project prompted by the Royal Commission into Family Violence. One of its recommendations was for water customer service codes to clearly show that customers experiencing family violence are eligible for hardship assistance programs.
‘As part of this work, we’ve engaged with all Victorian water businesses on a journey into uncharted but rewarding territory. I’m enormously proud to have worked on this project and am so pleased with the response of the water sector.’
