Essential stories: Siobhan, strategic communication team member
08 January 2018
‘I’m a word nerd. I was always that kid who stayed up too late reading on a school night. I even remember the first word I ever looked up in the dictionary (“leprechaun”, for the record). Words stay with me, so I understand how important they are to other people, particularly when they’re about water bills or electricity prices.
‘I work in the commission’s strategic communication team, so my world revolves around making sure what we write is clear and accessible to our audience. I also get to work on things like how our content looks, but that’s just a bonus.
‘There’s one thing I really appreciate about this place: everyone who works here values the impact they have on Victorians. Plus, they’re all secret fans of word puns. It’s a good day if you can crack a few terrible jokes about apostrophes.’
