Occupiers of a scheduled activity premises can opt in to the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program to register Victorian energy efficiency certificates (VEECs) for the site.
Scheduled activity premises
Scheduled activity premises are premises that were previously participants in the Environmental Protection Agency's Environment and Resource Efficiency Plan (EREP) program, on the basis that these were large energy-using sites.
These premises are excluded from the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program unless the occupier opts in to the program. This can be done by providing us with notice in accordance with the requirements of the VEET Regulations.
However, premises that opt in to the VEU program create liabilities for their energy retailer under the scheme once a certificate is registered for the site.
Register of Scheduled Activity Premises
We maintain a Register of Scheduled Activity Premises in order to provide stakeholders with information on which premises are scheduled activity premises and the status of these premises under the program.
You can review the status of a premises for the purposes of determining the premises’ eligibility for certificate creation or for relevant entity compliance in the register.
How to opt in
If you are an occupier of a scheduled activity premises and wish to opt in to the program, you must provide us with written notice by completing our notification template and emailing the completed and signed notification to veu@esc.vic.gov.au.
Once we have accepted your notification, we will notify you of this and will change the status of your premises to ‘notice made’ on the Register of Scheduled Activity Premises.
Our acceptance of this notice must be completed prior to the carrying out of any energy efficient activities at your premises under the program.
