Lighting upgrades that do not occur in a building or structure, or a public space are 'non-building based upgrade activities' under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program.

Non-building based lighting upgrades eligibility
Non-building based lighting upgrades are lighting upgrades undertaken in a place, other than an upgrade undertaken in a building or structure under activity 34 or in a public space under activity 27 of the program. For example, a non-building based lighting upgrade may be undertaken on an eligible:
- private road
- public or outdoor space
- open air carpark
- sports field.

Get involved
If you are interested in undertaking building based lighting activities you can either:
- work with an accredited person who is accredited to undertake non-building based lighting upgrades
- apply for non-building based lighting activity approval (see resources tab).
Get lighting products approved
Any product installed as part of this activity must be listed on our Register of Products at the time of certificate creation.
